OP Art: The Art of Optical Illusions
ITC studio in art classes studied the OP art movement and created these optical illusion influenced drawings. These artists explored their 2 dimensional space to create the illusion of depth. I love how these turned out, so vibrant!
Still Life Art: Let's play chess!
Students created these fun, vibrant drawings using a still life that each student set up individually. They were asked to show overlapping and to choose a medium and a style to work in. Students had the option of:
Oil pastels
Colored Pencils
Regular pencil
Sharpies
I was so excited to see how each student created the ilusion of depth with their chess pieces. Students complemented their piece showing a contrasting black and white checkerboard in the background. Excellent work!
Extra Credit Opportunity
To All ITC eagle artists:
As we discussed in class, this is your opportunity to earn EXTRA CREDIT!! Please go visit the new wing of Destiny USA near Wonderworks and take a photo by the optical illuision art on the floor. Make sure your picture is taken at the correct angle to get the full effect of the optical illusion! Have fun and please email your photo to: lalfieri@scsd.us
Celtic Tree of Life
ITC ARTISTS worked with visual texture and balance in these beautiful scratch board designs. Students studied for the meaning of the Celtic Tree of Life and the harmony and balance of bringing all forces of nature together to live peacefully. Students went through a process of transferring their design to the scratch board and then working with either the positive or negative space. I absolutely love how the students worked with values through the scratching process. Great Job!
